Helping veterans

SVR helps veterans in so many different ways, not just with housing. Our veterans are able to seek specialist help in a friendly community environment and can take part in different sports or activities.

In 2024 alone we helped 235 residents by:

  • Supporting 62 veterans to move on to their own tenancy or supported accommodation
  • Providing 1,101 hours of counselling with registered practitioners
  • Delivering 242 Occupational Therapy attendances
  • Helping with 20 AFCS/War Pension claims
  • Contributing £53,233 to support residents into employment
  • Enabling 7 veterans to undertake volunteering work
  • Helping 68 residents to take up an activity, sport or hobby
  • Assisting 6 residents undertake training or education
  • Offering activities such outdoor weeks throughout Scotland (including climbing, archery, kayaking and mountain biking), golf, MMA, fishing, football, gym visits, cycling, abseiling, rock climbing, sea fishing, zip sliding, hiking, paddle boarding, visits to places of interest and visits by other organisations and groups to our Residences.
