Garden Party and New Rooms for Whitefoord House11 Sep 2014
A wonderful, if rather wet time was had by all at the Garden Party at Whitefoord House on Friday. Over 100 of our colleagues, supporters, members of the Service and ex-Service community gathered together with residents and staff.
One of the main events of the afternoon was the offical opening of the redevloped attic space which has been converted into 6 en-suite rooms, a gym and weights room. The opening was conducted by Whitefoord's oldest resident, 89 year old Royal Navy veteran Jim Mulholland. The youngest resident at Whitefoord is currently 19.
The catering team did a great job in providing an excellent hot and cold buffet and pipes from RAF Leuchars (and our own Hugh Scott) entertained us wonderfully.
Guests and residents were clearly impressed by the spacious new rooms, the addition of which mean that Whitefoord can now accommodate 87 veterans who are homeless or in need of support.
We were delighted to welcome so many friends, old and new to see our great facilities and meet our veterans.
