Situated on the Canongate on Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile, Whitefoord House enjoys a central location ideally placed for all local amenities with a Post Office, shops and library all within walking distance. Waverley Station and Princes Street are within 10 minutes walk and Lothian Buses service 35 passes every 30 minutes.

Accommodation

Whitefoord House is home for 81 veterans' of all ages who enjoy life to the full, retaining their independence in a supportive community environment. The accommodation is full board with laundry service and each single room is fully furnished and all have the addition of en-suite facilities.

Flat Accommodation Available for Rent

We also have furnished flat accommodation available. With six one bedroom and five two bedroom flats available for rent. (From summer 2005)

Social Areas

The residents enjoy a wide range of social areas including gardens, bowling green, library and sitting rooms for entertaining their family and friends. Entertainment is enjoyed in the Maclagan Room which is an ideal setting for the many social and commemorative events that take place.

Our residents live in a supportive community atmosphere ensuring that our residents never feel lonely or isolated. This atmosphere is created by the residents themselves with quiz afternoons, social events, holiday club and other activities.
